Job Description
Purpose of the role:
The Managing Director Southeast Asia is responsible for managing the growth throughout the region - to deliver operational, financial, and commercial targets. and will work with APAC board to enter new countries in the region and reach the APAC strategy roadmap.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To define a go-to market strategy/plan together with the APAC board to enter new identified markets/countries in SEA region.
- Develop and implement strategies/actions that will ensure the sustained profitability and growth of the organization
- To ensure that quality metrics are achieved through sound business processes following regulatory guidelines.
- To develop business prospects by keeping an eye on economic trends and revenue opportunities (projecting acquisition and expansion prospects; analyzing organization operations; identifying opportunities for improvement, cost reduction, and systems enhancement; and accumulating capital to fund expansion).
- To oversee financial performance and risk profile while ensuring that all regulatory obligations are met - oversees brand development and the implementation of effective marketing strategies and manages the design and implementation of new products and services.
- To guarantee the on-time submission of month-end financial and operational reviews, contributes to the development of and participation in corporate-wide strategic planning efforts.
- To develop, expand, and manage high growth sales, account Management and commercial operations teams to effectively meet and exceed budgets
- To drive growth and innovation across the business or operations, setting stretch targets for growth and the deployment of innovative services, processes, and technologies.
- Provide strategic advice. Develop and execute strategies, plans, activities, and actions to successfully achieve company commercial goals within the region
- To build and grow deep relationships with key customers, executives, and partners.
- To ensure the timely delivery of services to customers, satisfying their expectation and maximizing positive contribution to the entity’s gross margin
- Represents the company at important business functions, community events, industry training and events to strengthen the brand and convey the company’s message.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION:
- With atleast 15 years of supply chain, and cross-border e-Commerce logistics experience; ideally with 3-5 years of notable track records as MD or C-suite in SEA countries or region experience in the last 2 roles.
- In-depth exposure in supply chain, and/or cross-border e-Commerce logistics, leading multiple functions, and countries.
- Consistent track record of market-making/market-redefining – taking new products into new markets and creating and operationalizing an end-to-end go to market strategy
- Strategic thinker and disciplined planner; able to operationalize strategic plans
- Atleast 10 years of P&L management and ownership, with a strong financial acumen and stakeholder management skills
- Excellent business, budget, and people management skills; passionate about achieving team success.
- Ability to identify and analyze areas of risk (and opportunity) and eventually provide advice and constructive input to the development of best practice in strategic and business planning.
