Job Description

Alcott Global is currently working with a fast-growing ecommerce leader focused on high-end fashion to search for their Head of APAC Logistics Operations eCommerce to be based in either Shenzhen or Hong Kong.

The role will directly report to the VP of Global Logistics

Our client utilizes a M2C (manufacturer to customer) supply chain that sends single parcels by air from the factory floor directly to the customers’ doorstep.  This role would be responsible for organizing first mile shipments from the APAC region to their consolidators and then ensuring uplift on various air and sea modes (primarily air).

This is a critical role, instrumental to the Company’s success, as they continue to scale their operations with direct sourcing from manufacturers; fulfill and ship millions of orders to the US from different CN/APAC locations as well as a consolidation center in HK in less than 24 hours with air cargo or a few days of ocean cargo transit. This leader is required to work cross-functionally with 3rd party carriers, warehouse and freight operators, and operators throughout the Company to build and support a winning logistics operations playbook to rapidly enable better efficiency, profitability, and customer experience.

The Head of APAC Logistics Operations eCommerce will be responsible for all first mile transit and inventory stock-in, order fulfillment/shipping, international freight operations including developing a holistic strategy and managing standardized SOPs for timely and reliable inventory availability and order pick-pack-ship into major airports in the US. The ideal candidate is expected to build and manage the respective business operations through co-design, development, and implementation of systems, processes with global 3PLs, carriers, freight forwarders/agents, airlines, and customs brokers. candidate is expected to provide leadership that will invoke a culture of quality and continuous improvement throughout all partner and supplier owned operations across the globe.

We are looking for a seasoned leader to drive the company’s logistics operations in the APAC (primarily CN/HK) region, affecting rapid operational efficiency, profitable growth, and brand health. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, problem-solver, a builder, and an operator at heart, and successful in combining technology, data and other insights into best-in-class core logistics and international freight operations. The candidate is energized by solving complex business problems, often through influence over the suppliers, global 3PLs, carriers, freight brokers and IATA agents rather than direct management control. The candidate is expected to make high-judgment operational decisions at a rapid pace - sometimes with limited data sets in hand. Moreover, the ideal candidate is effective in an environment where customer experience comes first, and strategy, innovation and decision-making are intentionally distributed, candor, speed and data are highly valued and colleagues at all levels hold each other to unusually high standards on behalf of the company’s customers.
