Alcott Global is currently partnering with a leading client, a manufacturer of high-end goods/products, in the search for a Head of Global Manufacturing. The position can be based in either Bangkok or Shanghai.


Role Purpose:

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Global Head of Manufacturing is tasked with providing strategic leadership and direction to all manufacturing operations on a global scale, with a specific emphasis on the APAC region. This role aims to drive operational excellence, optimize production efficiency, and ensure the highest standards of product quality across all manufacturing facilities. The incumbent will play a pivotal role in developing and executing manufacturing strategies that support the company's growth objectives while adhering to regulatory compliance and safety standards.


Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Leading a team of close to 1000 staff, across manufacturing facilities primarily based in Shanghai and Thailand
  • Develop and implement global manufacturing strategies that align with the company's business goals. Lead the transformation initiatives to drive innovation and operational excellence ensuring scalability, flexibility, and responsiveness to market dynamics.
  • Oversee manufacturing operations across multiple regions, including the APAC region, to ensure consistent execution of production plans, adherence to quality standards, and efficient resource utilization and budgets are met.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline manufacturing processes, reduce cycle times, minimize waste, and improve overall operational efficiency through the implementation of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage budgets, forecasting, and resources, ensuring optimal allocation and cost reduction efforts.
  • Establish and maintain robust quality management systems to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and customer specifications. Implement measures to monitor and improve product quality and reliability throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Collaborate with supply chain management teams to optimize inventory management, procurement strategies, and supplier relationships, ensuring seamless integration between manufacturing operations and upstream/downstream processes.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and automation solutions to enhance manufacturing capabilities, increase productivity, and drive innovation. Lead the implementation of new manufacturing technologies and digitalization initiatives to improve operational performance.
  • Develop and implement strategies for capacity planning and expansion to support business growth objectives. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to assess demand forecasts, evaluate production capacity constraints, and make recommendations for capital investments and facility expansions as needed.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing manufacturing and design leadership team. Establish clear performance standards and foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
  • Identify potential risks and vulnerabilities within the manufacturing process and develop mitigation strategies to ensure business continuity and minimize disruptions. Proactively address issues related to equipment reliability, supply chain disruptions, regulatory compliance, and safety hazards.


KSA Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in manufacturing leadership roles, with a strong background in managing global manufacturing operations, preferably in the APAC region.
  • Demonstrated expertise in implementing lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and continuous improvement initiatives to drive operational excellence and cost optimization.
  • The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to be agile and flexible in navigating dynamic market conditions and evolving manufacturing landscapes, adapting strategies and processes as needed to drive continuous improvement and maintain competitiveness.
  • Proven track record of success in developing and executing manufacturing strategies that align with business objectives, improve productivity, and enhance product quality.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements, quality management systems, and industry standards applicable to manufacturing operations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Strategic thinker with analytical problem-solving abilities and a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Experience in managing cross-functional teams and driving change management initiatives in a complex, global environment.
  • Knowledge of emerging manufacturing technologies, automation solutions, and Industry 4.0 trends is highly desirable.
