Job Description

Alcott Global is partnering with a leading semiconductor manufacturing company to search for their Head of Manufacturing, ASIA to be based in Penang, Malaysia.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the manufacturing process, as wells as for leading and driving manufacturing excellence, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives across our ASIA manufacturing operations. This position requires a strong background in semiconductor manufacturing, combined with expertise in lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and operational excellence practices.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement manufacturing strategies to optimize production processes, reduce costs, and improve overall efficiency.
  • Develop and implement strategies to drive manufacturing excellence and operational efficiency in our ASIA manufacturing operations, focusing on process optimization, waste reduction, and productivity improvement.
  • Lead and manage a diverse team of manufacturing professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and support to foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Establish and maintain performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor manufacturing performance and drive accountability at all levels of the organization.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, supply chain, quality assurance, and R&D, to identify opportunities for improvement and implement solutions to enhance manufacturing processes and product quality.
  • Drive the adoption of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and other best practices to streamline operations, improve efficiency, and reduce costs.
  • Lead and support the implementation of new technologies, automation solutions, and digital manufacturing initiatives to enhance manufacturing capabilities and competitiveness.
  • Champion a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and industry best practices.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in manufacturing excellence and operational excellence, and apply knowledge to drive innovation and continuous improvement.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing, with a proven track record of success in driving manufacturing excellence and operational improvement initiatives.
  • Strong technical expertise in semiconductor fabrication processes, equipment, and technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and operational excellence methodologies, with certifications such as Lean Six Sigma Black Belt preferred.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate teams to achieve results.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute strategies to drive operational excellence, improve productivity, and reduce costs.
  • Experience with implementing new technologies, automation solutions, and digital manufacturing initiatives preferred.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations, standards, and best practices related to semiconductor manufacturing.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and drive results under tight deadlines.
