Alcott Global has been retained by a leading global FMCG company to appoint a Vice President of Global Supply Chain Planning. This is a high-impact leadership role, central to the company’s growth and operational transformation.
The Opportunity
The VP will own the global planning agenda end-to-end, spanning demand forecasting, supply planning, production scheduling, inventory optimization, and customer service. This leader will be the catalyst for building an integrated, tech-enabled, and future-ready planning function that drives business performance and directly impacts the bottom line.
Reporting to the executive leadership team, this role will steer a global transformation journey: embedding Integrated Business Planning (IBP), implementing advanced digital tools, and creating a high-performing global team that ensures resilience, agility, and service excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Shape the global planning strategy in line with long-term growth ambitions and dynamic market realities.
- Transform planning capabilities through the adoption of IBP and world-class S&OP processes.
- Unify planning processes, systems, and tools across all geographies, building consistency and scalability.
- Develop and inspire a global team, building next-generation capabilities and a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Strengthen cross-functional alignment with commercial, finance, R&D, and operations to ensure planning directly supports sales growth, innovation, and financial performance.
- Leverage digital tools and analytics to enhance forecasting accuracy, visibility, and agility.
- Optimize global inventory levels, balancing customer service, working capital, and cost efficiency.
- Lead scenario and capacity planning to proactively anticipate risks, disruptions, and demand fluctuations.
- Champion innovation and best practices, ensuring the planning function remains ahead of industry standards.
- Drive sustainability and responsible practices through smarter planning and resource optimization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred.
- 20+ years of progressive global supply chain leadership, including end-to-end planning responsibility.
- Proven track record in large-scale supply chain transformation, linking planning excellence to business results.
- Expertise in demand/supply planning, S&OP/IBP, inventory management, and capacity planning.
- Experience leading diverse, international teams within complex, matrixed environments.
- Strong financial and commercial acumen; ability to connect planning with P&L impact.
- Tech-savvy leader with deep exposure to digital tools, analytics, and automation.
- Exceptional communicator with credibility at the C-suite and board level.
