Alcott Global is partnering with a leading Pharmaceutical Manufacturing company to search for their Vice President of Analytical R&D. The role will be based in India.

 

Role Overview:

The Analytical R&D Leader will lead the company’s worldwide analytical research and development function, defining and executing a cohesive global analytical strategy across the product lifecycle. This executive will ensure scientific excellence, regulatory compliance, and the development of robust, fit-for-purpose analytical methods from early research through commercial launch.

 

This role will drive innovation in analytical technologies, oversee multi-site and cross-functional teams, and ensure all R&D outputs meet global quality and regulatory standards. The position requires a seasoned leader with deep scientific expertise, strong global team management capabilities, and the ability to influence strategic decision-making across R&D, manufacturing, and quality functions.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership & Innovation: Develop and implement strategic direction for the analytical R&D function, ensuring full alignment with the company’s overall business, R&D, and client objectives. Lead the development of the global analytical strategy and foster innovation by evaluating and adopting advanced analytical technologies and automation.
  • Regulatory Compliance & Submissions: Ensure all analytical activities comply with global regulatory requirements. Accountable for authoring, reviewing, and approving high-quality analytical documentation for regulatory submissions and leading the defense of analytical strategies during health authority inspections.
  • Analytical Method Development & Validation: Oversee the development, optimization, validation, and transfer of robust analytical methods for characterization, release, and stability testing of raw materials & APIs.
  • Team & Resource Management: Lead, mentor, and manage multi-disciplinary, global teams of scientists and analysts (100+ staff across sites).
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with R&D, manufacturing and quality assurance to ensure seamless project execution and technology transfer to commercial sites.
  • Client & Project Management: Act as the primary technical interface for clients, managing project timelines, negotiating contracts, providing expert analytical advice, and ensuring all deliverables meet customer quality standards and deadlines.
  • Problem-Solving & Data Analysis: Offer technical expertise and leadership in resolving complex analytical challenges, including out-of-specification (OOS) and out-of-trend (OOT) results, while ensuring thorough data analysis and interpretation to support key decisions.

 

 Qualifications and Experience:

  • A Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry (Preferred).
  • 20+ years of experience in analytical development within the pharmaceutical industry
  • Deep expertise in modern analytical techniques and instrumentation.
  • Strong knowledge of global regulatory landscapes and quality systems
