Alcott Global is partnering with a global client to search for their Managing Director, ASIA.

Role Overview:

The Managing Director, Asia is responsible for establishing and leading the organisation’s regional presence in Asia, a critical growth market within the global container shipping and logistics ecosystem. Based in Singapore, this role owns the execution of the Asia growth agenda, including standards adoption, ecosystem partnerships, product growth, and commercial performance.

 

Operating within a global governance and neutrality framework, the role serves as the senior in-region representative and execution partner, ensuring Asia-based stakeholders realise clear, measurable business value from industry standards, digital platforms, and SaaS solutions.

 

Core Accountabilities:

Regional Leadership & Presence

  • Establish and lead the organisation’s Asia presence, anchored in Singapore
  • Act as the senior in-region representative with ecosystem stakeholders, regulators, and partners
  • Build credibility as a neutral, trusted industry body across Asia

 Member Enablement & Value Realisation

  • Deepen engagement with Asia-based Members
  • Ensure effective local follow-through on standards adoption and SaaS initiatives
  • Act as a conduit between Members and global teams, surfacing priorities and ensuring execution

 Partnerships & Ecosystem Development

  • Build a regional partnership ecosystem across:
    • Operators
    • Terminals
    • Beneficial cargo owners / shippers
    • Freight forwarders
    • Technology and solution providers
  • Convert partnerships into standards adoption, SaaS usage, and revenue

 Product Growth & Commercial Delivery

  • Lead regional market development for digital platforms and solutions
  • Work closely with Sales and Customer Success to drive pipeline, onboarding, adoption, and expansion

 Primary commercial objective:

  • Achieve ambitious regional revenue targets within 18–24 months through:
    • Partner programmes
    • SaaS subscriptions
    • Ecosystem and platform-driven engagements

 

 Additional success metrics include:

  • Onboarding of new Partners and Customers in Asia
  • Measurable adoption of industry standards
  • Contribution to growth in Asia-based membership
  • Establishment of a scalable, repeatable Asia go-to-market model

 

Experience:

  • Senior regional leadership experience (Managing Director, General Manager, Head of Region, VP, or equivalent)
  • Broad network of relevant stakeholders in Asia
  • Strong background in shipping, logistics, ports, freight forwarding, or maritime / supply-chain technology
  • Proven track record in business development, partnerships, and revenue growth in Asia
  • Experience operating in complex, multi-stakeholder or ecosystem-driven environments

 

Capabilities:

  • Commercially driven with strong execution discipline
  • Highly credible with C-suite and senior industry stakeholders
  • Comfortable balancing revenue generation with a neutral, standards-based mandate
  • Strong communicator able to translate technical or standards-based concepts into business value
  • Cultural fluency across Asia; multilingual capability is an advantage
