Job Description

Alcott Global is partnering with a global mobile device company to search for their Global Head of Planning. The role will be based in Hong Kong.

 

Role Overview

The Global Head of Planning will oversee all global planning activities, ensuring optimal product availability, efficient inventory levels, and seamless execution across the supply chain. This executive will develop and drive world-class supply planning capabilities, strengthen the IBP framework, and manage complex electronics supply ecosystems. The role requires a strong leader with deep experience in mobile devices/ consumer electronics supply chains, with high-volume, fast-innovation product environments.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Global Supply Planning Leadership

  • Lead global supply planning across all product lines, ensuring consistent processes, governance, and tools across regions.
  • Develop a robust supply planning strategy that supports high-growth business needs, product launch cycles, and multi-tier component dependencies.
  • Defining and monitor planning KPIs (OTIF, forecast accuracy, capacity utilization, inventory health, etc.).

 

Integrated Business Planning (IBP / S&OP)

  • Own and drive the global IBP process, ensuring cross-functional alignment on demand, supply, and financial plans.
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Product teams to translate commercial plans into actionable supply strategies.
  • Lead monthly IBP/S&OP cycles, facilitating scenario planning and executive decision-making.

 

Inventory & Capacity Management

  • Oversee global inventory levels across finished goods, semi-finished goods, and critical electronic components.
  • Define inventory policies and safety stock strategies to balance availability with working capital.
  • Work with manufacturing partners and internal operations to ensure accurate capacity planning and long-range supply visibility.

 

Systems, Data & Analytics

  • Drive the evolution of planning tools and digital capabilities (APS, ERP, planning systems).
  • Implement data-driven planning methodologies and enhance visibility across the supply chain.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to increase accuracy, agility, and responsiveness.

 

Leadership & Cross-Functional Influence

  • Build and lead a high-performing global planning team across multiple regions.
  • Act as a key strategic advisor to senior leadership on supply risk, opportunities, and trade-offs.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and operational excellence.

 

Qualifications & Experience:  

  • Minimum 18+ years of supply chain experience with a strong focus on supply planning, electronics SCM, and inventory management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field. Master’s degree or MBA

- ideal.

  • Deep understanding of mobile devices, consumer electronics or hi-tech devices supply chains, including long lead-time components and multi-tier supplier ecosystems.
  • Proven experience leading global planning teams in fast-paced, high-complexity environments.
  • Strong command of IBP/S&OP processes, scenario planning, and cross-functional alignment.
  • Expertise in advanced planning systems 
  • Experience working with EMS/ODM partners in Asia.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and executive presentation skills.
  • Ability to thrive in dynamic, high-growth, innovation-driven organizations.
