Role Purpose
The Chief Procurement Officer will serve as the senior procurement leader for the organization, accountable for shaping and executing the global procurement strategy across direct and indirect spend categories. The individual will play a critical role in strengthening procurement performance, organizational capability, and succession depth across a large international function.
The role combines strategic leadership and organizational transformation with operational oversight. The mandate includes enhancing procurement efficiency, upgrading selected leadership capabilities, and contributing strategically to broader business transformation initiatives, including ERP transformation.
Location: East Asia or APAC, with regular presence in a key regional market preferred
Key Responsibilities

Strategic Procurement Leadership

Define and lead the global procurement strategy across direct and indirect procurement, ensuring alignment with enterprise priorities, supply chain strategy, and business objectives.

Drive strategic sourcing, supplier management, and category leadership across a broad range of spend areas, balancing cost, quality, resilience, innovation, and service outcomes.

Lead supplier and category strategies that enhance value creation, supply continuity, risk management, and long-term competitiveness.

Partner closely with senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure procurement supports commercial, operational, and transformation priorities.

Act as a trusted advisor to the Chief Supply Chain Officer and broader executive leadership team on procurement, supply market dynamics, organizational capability, and transformation priorities.
2. Operational Excellence & Transformation

Improve procurement efficiency, effectiveness, and operating discipline through process optimization, governance enhancement, and performance management.

Contribute strategically to enterprise transformation initiatives, including ERP transformation, by ensuring procurement requirements, process design, and change implications are appropriately represented.

Foster close collaboration with manufacturing, supply chain, operations, finance, quality, engineering, and commercial teams to deliver aligned business outcomes.
3. Organizational Leadership & Capability Building

Lead a large, internationally distributed procurement organization across APAC, the US, and EMEA, building a high-performance culture and clear accountability across the function.

Strengthen organizational capability through leadership development, team upgrading, succession planning, and targeted talent enhancement in key roles.

Create an environment of continuous improvement, coaching, and leadership development across the procurement organization..
